Electric scooter parts compatibility checklist

Match a replacement part to the exact scooter and the original component reference. A shared brand name, voltage or connector shape is only part of the compatibility check.

By Voltis · Updated 10 October 2026 · Identification and buying guidance. Installation requirements depend on the component and vehicle.

Identify the scooter before choosing a component

Record the full model name, generation, model year when known, battery version and any relevant serial or hardware revision. Photograph the original component label and connectors for a compatibility enquiry. Send those photos privately to support; avoid posting serial labels publicly.

Batteries: capacity is only one check

Confirm the original battery reference, nominal voltage, capacity, case dimensions, mounting, connectors and the manufacturer's approved charging requirements. The same Ah figure does not establish electrical or physical compatibility.

A replacement battery listing should state the exact model and version it covers. If a hardware revision has not been checked, keep that question open. Do not select a higher-voltage pack as a drop-in upgrade without manufacturer approval.

Controllers: match the reference and position

Check the complete label, current rating, connector and harness arrangement, mounting and communication requirements. For dual-controller systems, confirm which position is required and whether the component is sold individually or as a pair.

The Voltis listings for Dualtron Thunder 2 controller A and controller B distinguish the harnesses. Their shared nominal voltage does not make the two positions interchangeable.

Model generations matter too: the original Dualtron Spider controller listing does not establish fitment for the Spider Max.

Brakes: check the complete installation

Check the caliper mount and adapter, rotor diameter and thickness, hose length, clearances and any motor-cutoff sensor requirements. Confirm whether rotors and adapters are actually included in the selected kit.

The Hope Tech 4 V4 pack identifies the supplied brake pair and lists the fitment checks separately. The product name alone is not a promise that it bolts onto every scooter.

A useful compatibility enquiry

  • Full scooter model, battery version and known generation.
  • Original component reference and readable label photos.
  • Required controller position or front/rear brake position.
  • Connector, mounting and dimensional information available without unsafe disassembly.
  • The replacement listing you are considering.

Have a qualified technician confirm uncertain electrical or braking compatibility and the installation procedure. Use the charger specified or approved by the vehicle manufacturer. Do not improvise wiring or connector adaptations to make a mismatched component fit.
